Solutions Engineer
What does a successful Solutions Engineer do at Fiserv?
As a Solutions Engineer, you will play an important role in our organizations evolution towards contemporary application and infrastructure management practices.
You will be focused on addressing the issues that are impacting the ongoing integration activities within Fiserv Technology Services (FTS) by using your Infrastructure as Code expertise.
What you will do:
Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to design and implement highly available solutions for a multitude of technologies.
Interact with customers and appropriate representatives to analyze, validate, verify, document, and manage the requirements of large-scale projects.
Design, debug, and run fault-tolerant large-scale distributed systems.
Provide technical documentation to project and operations teams as part of project deliverables.
Use the core Site Reliability Engineering principles of change management, monitoring, emergency response, capacity planning, and production readiness reviews to run the platform.
What you will need to have:
6 years of experience supporting an Enterprise IT environment.
Working knowledge of Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Load Balancers, and Storage.
Understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as: HTTP, DNS, ECMP, TCP/IP, ICMP, the OSI Model, Subnetting, and Load Balancing strategies.
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.Current, enterprise-class Infrastructure/System Engineering experience with Microsoft platforms running on Intel servers.
What would be great to have:
Familiarity with API Gateways and reverse proxies including Apigee and F5 APM.
Experience with tools & technologies such as Dynatrace, Splunk, and Moogsoft.
Knowledge of public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
Knowledge of open-source configuration, orchestration, and CI/CD tools.
Experience designing and implementing High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions.
Experience with high-level programming languages (Python, Go, Java, etc.).
Knowledge and experience working in the financial technology sector and ensuring compliance with industry-standard PCI DSS 3.2 requirements.
Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to work efficiently and productively with minimal direction or guidance.
Basic understanding of ITIL and change control/management processes.
Exhibiting proactive behavior is key to being successful in this position.
