    JOB OVERVIEW:

    Develop and drive strategic plans for the CPD supply chain, procurement and Business development functions that are in line with company policies to ensure business objectives are being met.

    Lead the adoption of industry best practices for sourcing, planning, procurement and logistics to improve efficiency and meet business goals.

    Oversee management of third party manufacturing partners/vendors, ensuring continuity of quality, cost, delivery, safety and service metrics

    Business & Functional Heads, Bayer Functional Heads, PPL Team heads and Mahad Site heads

    KEY STAKEHOLDERS:

    EXTERNAL

    Vendors, client representatives & government officials

    REPORTING STRUCTURE:

    Reports to Chief Executive Officer of CPD, CPD Positions that report into this role: Chief Manager

    Planning , Chief Manager Outsourcing, Chief manager Distribution and Logistics, Chief Managers Business development, Direct and Indirect procurement leaders

    QUALIFICATION:

    Full time MBA in Sales/Marketing from Premier B School

    EXPERIENCE:

    B.E. Chemical or M.Sc. Chemistry & MBA in Operations / SCM having experience in Pharma industry or Graduate preferably with Masters degree in Business / Technical domain
    • 15+ years progressive experience in various functions of Global Supply Chain with at least 10 years experience in leadership role.

    • Strong knowledge of best practices and trends in global supply chain, purchasing and procurement, inventory, vendor management and logistics


    • Ability to lead cross functional and globally dispersed teams

    • Excellent oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work effectively with business leaders


    • Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities and problem solving skills


    • Extensive ERP and MRP knowledge

    Key Roles/Responsibilities

    Oversee the Supply Chain Management and Business development for CPD.

    Take ownership for and manage a spend base of 300 Cr of Direct materials


    • Develop guidelines, SOPs & best practices w.r.t supply chain functions, outsourcing and contract

    manufacturer's performance monitoring in order to optimize quality and delivery time. Identify

    process/policy gaps and drive improvement/innovative opportunities.


    • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in driving company goals


    • Develop as needed and sustain value stream mapping process from demand to delivery, S&OP process, inventory management targets and tracking, replenishment strategy and scheduling

    platforms/processes.


    • Create strategic and operational planning models, global production planning policies, deployment procedures, capacity analysis and capacity plans.


    • Partner with business stakeholders to establish and deliver value/cost/efficiency targets with respect to supply chain, procurement and logistics to the business.


    • Establish, sustain & continuously improve business review mechanisms and MIS for respective teams.


    • Lead strategic initiatives across multiple sites in key areas like supplier performance management,

    MRP, inventory management, and customer service.


    • Manage strategic initiatives design & execution: capacity planning, make v/s buy, vendor development,

    dossier preparation, talent management to ensure that business goals are met.


    • Provide thought leadership on sourcing key spend categories, including strategic evolution of supply base and innovative sourcing approaches.


    • Develop long term logistics strategies for network optimization, centralized freight purchasing, long term outsourcing, multi modal moves & customer services.


    • Execute continuous improvement measures, especially related to cost, delivery and safety. Conduct risk assessment and develop risk mitigation mechanisms.


    • Implement systems to support the Forecasting & planning process with accurate & timely information.

    Implement best practices in New product development via R&D development route and Vendor product development route. Bring in new product ideas and execute to realize the Business potential.


    • Strong knowledge of best practices in global supply chain, purchasing, inventory, vendor management and logistics.


    • Ability to lead cross functional and dispersed teams. Ability to handle diversified group and effective conflict management.


    • Provide leadership and inputs to support diligence and post close integration for acquisitions based on business requirements from a supply chain/procurement/logistics perspective.
    • Provide thought leadership and necessary support on capital projects procurement and spending to operations, central projects teams and other functions as necessary.


    • Provide leadership, attract right talent, develop, motivate and provide clear direction to the supply chain teams. Identify good talent and create career path for high potential employees.


    • Responsibility to groom successor and team in line with individuals' career aspirations and

    organizational requirements. Driving people engagement initiatives and build an engaged team.


    • Network and interface with government agencies and authorities to effectively represent the business and ensure cost and efficiency benefits in line with the Values of the business.


    • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures, ethical practices and adherence to

    relevant laws and regulations.
