Charles River Development is rapidly growing its Software-as-a-Service platform. We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical FinOps Analyst to join our Cloud Governance Team. The FinOps Analyst will play a crucial role in optimizing financial operations by analyzing data, identifying trends, and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of financial principles, proficiency in data analysis tools, and excellent communication skills. The team you will be joining is a part of Charles River Development (or CRD), that became a part of State Street in 2018. CRD helps create enterprise investment management software solutions for large institutions in the areas of institutional investment, wealth management and hedge funds. Together we have created first open front-to-back platform - State Street Alpha, that was launched in 2019.

What you will be responsible for

• Partner with SaaS, engineering, and Finance teams to implement and maintain robust FinOps practices with the goal of creating a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCOE)
• Analyze cloud utilization data from Azure and AWS to identify cost optimization opportunities
• Develop and implement cost-savings strategies, including right sizing resources, analyzing reserved instances and savings plans opportunities, while maintaining or enhancing product/service quality and SaaS client value
• Maintain, build, update dashboards and reports to provide clear visibility into cloud consumption and resource utilization, while evaluating unit-economic client contribution
• Develop financial models to forecast unit economic metrics under various scenarios and assumptions
• Perform sensitity analysis and scenario planning to assess the impact of changess in key variables in unit-level profitibablity
• Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to promote a culture of cloud cost awareness and accountability, leveraging appropriate chargeback models
• Evaluate vendor contracts and agreements to ensure alignment with business objectives and cost-efficiency
• Forecast future cloud costs and develop budgets to ensure efficient resource allocation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices adoption
• Present findings and recoomendations to senior management and cross-functional teams, facilitating informed decision-making and action planning
• Stay up-to-date on the latest FinOps best practices and cloud cost management tools

• Ability to effectively integrate, contribute and overlap with other functions including cloud/enterprise architecture, compliance, risk, engineering, developers, operation
• Ability to formulate objectives with clear business value and demonstrate progress along the way
• Ability to communicate complex and innovative concepts with proven experience driving decision making across different stakeholder groups
• Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
• A champion for continuous improvement
• Experience with infrastructure systems, security assessments, and security processes is a bonus.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 Years of FinOps and cloud cost management experience
• At least 5 years of continuous cloud cost management experience required
• Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell & Python a plus
• Experience with cloud providers and FIno(ex: Amazon Web Services / AWS and/or Azure )
• Experience with cloud cost management tools and data analysis platforms (e.g., Cloudability, Cloudhealth, Power BI).
• Professional IT certifications are a plus
