Senior Procurement Manager - Shipbuilding Work Location:Pipavav Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager to lead the procurement operations for our shipbuilding division.
The successful candidate will be responsible for strategically sourcing materials, negotiating with vendors, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with regulations in the shipbuilding industry.
Responsibilities:
Supplier Management:
Source and develop a robust network of suppliers for various materials and components required in shipbuilding.
Obtain a minimum of three quotes for each procurement and follow the vendor evaluation process.
Conduct vendor audits to assess their quality, delivery, and compliance standards.
Renegotiate with vendors as and when required to secure favorable terms and pricing.
Develop alternate suppliers for key products to mitigate supply chain risks.

Procurement Operations:
Float inquiries and track quality and delivery issues throughout the procurement process.
Maintain optimal inventory levels and monitor costs to implement cost-effective processes.
Analyse and monitor the movement of materials to ensure efficient logistics and distribution.
Analyse existing procurement processes and identify areas for improvement and streamlining.

Compliance and Audits:
Ensure all purchases are in compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet financial audits and provide necessary documentation.

Technical Expertise:
Analyse Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings to accurately assess material requirements.
Plan and forecast monthly material requirements based on production schedules and upcoming projects.
Qualifications:
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the shipbuilding industry/PSU Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is mandatory.
Postgraduate degree in Engineering/Management Proven experience in supplier management, contract negotiations, and vendor evaluation processes.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in relevant procurement software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
