Position Overview:
As a key member of our team at Resources Valley, you will take on the role of a Test Automation Engineer, focusing on enhancing our testing processes through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct functional testing to ensure software quality.
• Design and implement automation scripts and frameworks to streamline testing.
• Create reusable components and libraries for future testing needs.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
• Collaborate with the Scrum Team to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
• Engage in automation scripting and the development of robust test frameworks.
• Review acceptance criteria for clarity and completeness.
• Prepare Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) for project tracking.
• Develop reusable code and libraries to enhance efficiency.
• Work independently while contributing to team goals.
• Facilitate communication with clients regarding testing progress and outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in one or more backend programming languages such as Java or C#.
• Familiarity with various testing methodologies including Unit, Functional, Component, and Integration Testing.
• Experience with open-source testing tools like TestNG, Cucumber, Appium, and Selenium Webdriver.
• Understanding of automation frameworks and their role in quality assurance and deployment processes.
• Knowledge of database architectures (SQL, NoSQL), message queues, and caching technologies.
• Experience with SDLC/STLC or Agile methodologies.
• Strong aptitude for functional testing to ensure a superior user experience.
• Ability to analyze system design and architecture for effective automation coverage.
• Proficient in debugging logs and troubleshooting databases, with a solid understanding of operations principles.
• Passionate about identifying gaps in test coverage and implementing improvements.
• Act as a technical resource for junior Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs).
• Hands-on experience in mobile application automation is advantageous.
• Experience in setting up and maintaining software test environments.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in testing and automating APIs using tools like Rest Assured, Swagger, and Postman.
• Knowledge of defect tracking methodologies.
• Experience with structured test data management across multiple environments.
• Familiarity with Continuous Deployment pipelines.
• Understanding of Docker and implementing automation tests in containerized environments.
• Certifications such as ISTQB or CSTE are a plus.
• Experience in security and penetration testing is an advantage.
• Knowledge of mobile testing and SQL is beneficial.
• Experience in load performance testing is a plus.
• Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development (BDD) and Cucumber is advantageous.
