INFORMATION ABOUT THE BUSINESSThe Strategy and Technology Group (STG) is a new initiative within Aon to deliver innovative consulting and technology solutions to its clients.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

As a DevOps Engineer you will be responsible for the deployment and support of a suite of multi-tier applications for cloud-based deployments.

You will support the team with pre-deployment requirements gathering, environment provisioning, application deployment and configuration and on-going maintenance of our applications.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIESYou will be involved in improving our DevOps story, feeding back experiences and requirements to the application teams, and implementing improvements.

You will provide guidance to client support / IT teams in establishing best practices for supporting STG applications and field support queries from those teams.

You will use your experience and knowledge to diagnose environment specific problems and work with application and IT Teams (both internal and external) to implement secure and robust solutions.

You will build ongoing relationships with Client IT Teams and proactively engage with them to ensure a reliable end user experience across multiple upgrade cycles over the lifespan of the applications.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIREDExperience designing and working with highly available, high traffic / throughput, distributed, scalable systems.

Extensive hands-on experience with Azure, preferably with exposure to PaaS offerings (for example App Services and Azure SQL)Experience in hosting applications in Kubernetes either self-hosted or PaaS (EKS or AKS).Professional experience with automating cloud infrastructure (Hashicorp Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, AWS CloudFormation, ARM Templates, and similar)Proven expertise in Configuration Management tools (Puppet, Ansible, etc)Strong experience with CI/CD pipelinesExperienced in working within an DevOps, Cloud or SRE function, with a focus on availability, reliability, and automation.

Experience Working in an Agile team and understand the Scrum Cycle.
In addition, the following are highly desirable.
