Program Lead

About SAHAY

SAHAY is an Indian non-government organization with its presence in West Bengal. The organization was established in 1989. The core focus areas of SAHAY are age-appropriate health, education, employment and life skills programs.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Program Lead will be responsible for the following:

Developing new concept notes, grant proposals, and presentations for resource mobilization;
Developing program budgets in consultation with the Executive Director and team;
Supporting the preparation of strategic plans for the organization;
Proactively supporting fundraising efforts;
Ensuring program documentation and reporting to the Executive Director;
Driving implementation of approved grant budgets;
Collaborating with the team to design, review, update, and create new programs;
Fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team;
Conducting regular visits to communities and service delivery points;
Carrying out other program-related administrative and operational tasks;
Researching and keeping updated on local, national, and international children and youth development trends;
Ensuring high compliance and quality checks on data collection and processing;
Reviewing program policies and guidelines to identify lessons learned and facilitate corrective measures;
Preparing monthly operating plans, program variance analysis, and reports;
Developing proposals for projected savings to ensure efficient utilization of funds;
Identifying manpower needs and supporting recruitment of relevant staff members;
Identifying and nurturing alliances/partnerships with like-minded stakeholders;

Education, Experience, and Key Skills

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

A full-time MBA or Master's degree in Social Sciences, Social work, Psychology, Development studies, or a related discipline from a reputed institution;
At least 7 years of total experience in CSR, grant-based programs, or in a donor agency, including 4 years managerial experience in at least 2 domains (children and young adults/health/education/skill development);
Excellent proposal writing skills with proven approval by various donors;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
Research and documentation skills;
Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire trust;
Strong networking and interpersonal skills;
Experience in effective planning, managing multiple priorities, and driving timely and quality-focused delivery;
Proven analytical and critical thinking skills;
Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications;

Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications are desirable:

Knowledge of government schemes and programs for children and youth;
Proficient in Bengali and Hindi;
Previous experience of working in West Bengal;
