    Position Summary

    Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer - Shaheen Mistri

    As Chief of Staff, you will enhance our organization's strategic alignment, operational efficiency and overall effectiveness. Your work will directly impact our mission and involve engagement with key high-level stakeholders in our movement and progress; including but not limited to our global Board, Leadership Team (including the CEO, Senior Directors, and Vertical Heads), and multi-stakeholder partners. This position offers a unique vantage point at the intersection of governance, strategy, project management, research, and leadership development.

    Team Overview

    Responsibilities

    Board Engagement and Support:

  • Manage information flow to national and global Board members, largely via email and WhatsApp groups.
  • Support the CEO in building rigorous agendas and content, driving cross-team coordination and collaboration, and maintaining high-quality documentation of meeting minutes and decisions.
  • Provide logistical and operational leadership towards board engagement activities, including meetings, retreats, workshops and events.
  • Senior Leadership Team Support:

  • Manage agendas and logistics for bi-weekly senior leadership meetings, focused on organizational priorities and strategic discussions, for a group of 5 Senior Direcotors and the CEO.
  • Facilitate bi-annual leadership retreats to build inspiration, clarity, culture and camaraderie among TFI's leadership team.
  • Promote a culture of honesty, trust, and clear communication across the organization, in close partnership with the CEO.
  • Leadership Team Engagement:

  • Manage Plan monthly sessions for the leadership team (25+ members) to ensure alignment, engagement, and awareness of organizational priorities.
  • Manage agendas and logistics for monthly leadership meetings, focused on driving organizational alignment, engagement, visibility and collaboration, for a group of 25+ Vertical Heads and decision-makers.
  • Foster a healthy, inclusive and honest culture among vertical heads.
  • CEO Operations

  • Oversee the CEO's operational team, working closely with the CEO's executive assistant to enable high quality, well-paced, and mission- aligned progress to goals.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process.
  • Strategically manage the CEO's calendar to reflect organizational priorities towards driving impact, well-being, and brand-building (ex. external speaking engagements).
  • Lead initiatives and complex special projects as part of the CEO's office, chosen year-on-year based on external and internal considerations.
  • As a Senior Manager at Teach For India, You Will:

  • Develop a strong talent pipeline for the CEO's office.
  • Coach team members toward achieving ambitious outcomes.
  • Contribute to and prioritize organizational goals alongside personal responsibilities.
  • Represent and advocate for the Teach For India mission and educational equity through internal and external communications underpinned by experiences in our classrooms.
  • Support key organizational functions, including Recruitment, Selection, Fundraising, Volunteering, and Movement Building.

    Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

  • 5+ years of professional experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in driving strategy and operations in high-stakes, goal-driven environments
  • Experience of having collaborated effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups
  • Exceptional judgment, decision-making, initiative, time management and planning, and orientation to learning
  • Agility and optimism, with an orientation towards being proactive, solutions-focused, and collaborative
  • Previous experience in teaching/education/working with children (preferred, not mandatory)
