Designation - General Manager - Mould Manufacturing

Experience -15 to 20 years

Location - Kosamba Plant, PGP Glass

Key Responsibilities

1. General Management & Administration

• Oversee overall technical and administrative management of the mould manufacturing function.
• Plan and manage infrastructure requirements for current and upcoming projects.
• Deploy and develop competent manpower for mould and CNC functions.
• Ensure smooth supply of moulds to the plant and maintain consistent output from Kosamba & Jambusar locations.

2. Mould Manufacturing, Delivery & Inspection

• Monitor end-to-end delivery of mould manufacturing and inspection.
• Manage job loading and distribution for NPD, NODCOMM, and Runner jobs (in-house, outsourced, and modification due to design changes).
• Establish and sustain workflows for mould manufacturing, ensuring competitive lead times.
• Reduce manufacturing time for NPD moulds through process optimization.
• Coordinate daily shop status updates and develop shop plans to meet production schedules.

3. CNC Operations & CAM/CAD Management

• Oversee CNC programs for 2-Axis, 3-Axis, and 5-Axis machines.
• Lead and manage the team of CAM Engineers and CNC Operators.
• Ensure delivery of robust CAD models for downstream processes.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance of CNC machines.
• Manage CNC machine consumables, supplies, and spares.
• Drive the addition of contemporary technology and replacement of obsolete equipment.

4. Process Improvement, Technology & Quality Systems

• Implement process monitoring and improvement initiatives across mould and CNC operations.
• Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for productivity enhancement.
• Improve raw material quality and strengthen supplier performance.
• Evaluate raw materials for quality enhancement and cost reduction.
• Establish and sustain quality systems for mould manufacturing.

5. Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Coordination

• Conduct daily meetings with AET and coordinate with Design, MRS, Production, NPD, HR, Purchase, and Vendors.
• Represent the department in daily Production Meetings.
• Facilitate discussions and alignment for mould design changes, modifications, and NPD requirements.

6. SAP, MIS & Data Management

• Serve as SAP Mould Core Team Member; troubleshoot mould-related issues in SAP.
• Approve MRP PRs for castings and create casting codes.
• Approve PRs for materials, machine spares, and consumables.
• Prepare MIS reports and compile monthly departmental data.

7. Team Leadership, Training & Skill Development

• Prepare monthly training and development plans for the team.
• Assign specific tasks to executives, monitor progress, and collect feedback.
• Lead the Skill Pillar drive for JBR and implement management-driven initiatives.
