    Description

    Payroll Specialist - HR Shared Services

    Assumes responsibility for the accurate and timely performance of payroll functions to include:

    Computes and records payroll data as scheduled.

    Maintains payroll records in compliance with state and federal regulations.

    Works with Accounting Department for updates to the General Ledger after each payroll processing.

    Provides payroll information regarding merit increases to managers as requested.

    Tracks and resolves payroll errors. Completes payroll adjustments and corrections as necessary.

    Ensures payroll functions are performed in accordance with established policies and procedures.

    Assumes responsibility for effectively recording, maintaining, and reporting HR information to include:

    Enters new hire information in the human resource system database.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's / Masters degree in HR, accounting, Finance, or related field.

    Minimum of 3 years of experience in multi-state payroll processing.

    Proven experience with any payroll ERP.

    Strong understanding of 401K file transmission processes.

    Knowledge of multi-state payroll-related compliance and regulations.

    Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

    Skills/Abilities:

    Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced in Microsoft Excel preferred.

    Well organized.

    Accurate and attentive to detail.

    Excellent communications.

    Strong typing and computer application skills.

    Ability to assist and support others.
