Assistant Vice President - Retirement SME

In this role as a Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for providing specialized expertise and guidance on retirement plans, compliance, and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

· Serve as the primary subject matter expert on all aspects of US retirement plan, including 401(k), 403(b), defined benefit, and other retirement plan types, including participant recordkeeping, contributions processing, distributions, loans, and compliance testing.

· Work on market intelligence and best practices from Retirement industry to drive improvement and transformation.

· Drive go to market strategy and BPaaS solutions

· Work on RFP/RFI and solutioning for new Retirement deals

· Develop and document best practices, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and training materials to ensure consistency and accuracy in retirement plan operations.

· Provide training and support to operations staff on retirement plan rules, Regulatory changes, procedures, and compliance requirements, promoting knowledge transfer and skill development.

· Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards, such as ERISA, IRS regulations, and DOL guidelines.

· Collaborate with stakeholders to identify training needs and create relevant training materials.

· Stay current on regulatory updates, legislative changes, and industry trends impacting retirement plan operations, compliance, and participant outcomes.

· Participate in client meetings, presentations, and consultations to address complex operational issues, interpret plan documents, and provide recommendations to enhance process efficiency.

· Partner with operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains in retirement plan workflows.

· Analyze operational data, identify potential compliance issues or operational risks, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements to mitigate risk exposure.

· Mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications we seek in you

Minimum Qualifications / Skills

· Proven experience in a SME role within US Retirement operations, with a strong understanding of retirement plans, services, and regulatory requirements, including ERISA, IRS regulations, and DOL guidelines.

· Understand E2E value chain of retirement operations, i.e., retirement plan administration, including participant recordkeeping, contributions processing, distributions, loans, and compliance testing.

· Preferred: Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., ASPPA, Qualified 401(k) Administrator etc.)

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.

· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

· Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
