PositionSummary:

ThePhysical and Health Education (PHE) Teacher is responsible fordeveloping and implementing a comprehensive PHE curriculum thataligns with the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework and theschools educational objectives.

This position involves fosteringstudents physical fitness wellbeing and personal developmentthrough a variety of physical activities sports and healtheducationprograms.


KeyResponsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging and ageappropriate PHE lessons thatpromote physical literacy teamwork and healthy lifestylehabits.
• Design and implement a curriculum that integrates the IB LearnerProfile attributes promoting internationalmindedness and holisticdevelopment.
• Assess students physical abilities progress and understanding ofPHE concepts through formative and summativeassessments.
• Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment thatencourages participation cooperation and respect forothers.
• Plan and organize extracurricular sports activities intramuralcompetitions and schoolwide events to enhance students athleticskills and schoolspirit.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and other specialists tointegrate PHE concepts into interdisciplinary units ofinquiry.
• Incorporate technology and multimedia resources to enhance teachingand learning experiences inPHE.
• Provide guidance and support to students in setting personalfitness goals and developing lifelong habits for physicalwellbeing.
• Implement safety protocols and procedures during PHE activities andensure the proper use of equipment andfacilities.
• Communicate regularly with students parents and colleaguesregarding student progress achievements and areas forimprovement.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stayupdated on best practices in PHE education and IB curriculumrequirements.
• Serve as a positive role model for students demonstratingenthusiasm for physical activity sportsmanship and healthyliving.
• Collaborate with the schools leadership team to support the overallmission and goals of the schoolcommunity.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Physical Education Sports Science or relatedfield; masters degreepreferred.
• Previous experience teaching PHE in an IB or international schoolsetting ispreferred.
• Strong knowledge of child development pedagogy and curriculumdesign inPHE.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the abilityto engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds andabilities.
• Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs ofindividual learners and promote inclusivepractices.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail in planning andimplementing PHE lessons andactivities.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification(preferred)
