Data Migration Engineer

Role andResponsibilities:
Work with the customer userstechnical architect and application designers to define the datamigration requirements and structure for theapplication.
Lead the data migration plan analysisdesign and build effort.

Work with the technicalarchitects and application designers to understand the dataconversion requirements fully and to design the conversionprocedures and applications.

Design & Architect gooddata migration fast & efficient ETL solution &reporting.

Review the database deliverables throughoutdevelopment to ensure quality and traceability to requirements andadherence to all quality management plans and standards.

Ensure that the application developers and data migrationdevelopers responsible for data migration thoroughly understand therequirements and designs.

Work with other architects toensure that all components work together to meet objectives andperformance goals as defined in the requirements.

Identify andcommunicate any crossarea or crossrelease issues that may affectother areas of the project.
Support the development andtest teams with the creation of test data. Ensure test dataconforms to data security requirements.
Participate inquality management reviews as outlined in the Verification andValidation Overview.
Ensure client data protectionguidelines are followed for sensitive personal data in accordanceto the Client Data Protection program.
Work withcustomers and security architects to identify the access controland identity requirements for the application.
Ensuresecurity in reporting and data warehousing.

Skills:
Must have Experience in working with PostgreSQL/OracleDatabase Shell Scripting Python programming
Hands onexperience in working with and generating XML documents.
Good analytical and business process understandingcapability.
Should be familiar with Data ModelsSourceTarget Data Mapping Transactional and Master Dataconcepts.

Should be wellexperienced in Highlevel/Detailed design and performance tuning of ETL jobs developedusing ETL tools like (Talend Open Studio/Informatica).

Ability to develop or revise the data migration approach as newdata requirements arise

Ability to develop and manageall aspects of the data migration effort including the plansinterdependencies schedule budget tools and requiredpersonnel.

Ability to convert data and relatedtechniques to acquire data needed to support testing training andother application development activities
Ability toreview project deliverables for completeness quality and compliancewith established project standards
Ability to documentand communicate progress against plans taking corrective action asnecessary
Ability to identify clarify and resolve issuesand risks escalating them as needed
Must have advancedto expert level knowledge and experience in SharePoint email andexchange.
Must have ability to lead onshore (2) andoffshore (4) teams
Ability to get work done withmultiple teams
Exposure to After Sales Business Domainis highly preferred.
Experience using HP ALM Jira forticketing and release management.
