    OverviewAsa Backend Engineer for our selfhostable software you will be at theforefront of developing optimizing and maintaining the corefunctionality of our cuttingedge selfhosted applications. This rolerequires a passion for creating robust scalable solutions thatempower users to host and manage our software with ease.Collaboration with crossfunctional teams is essential to ensure thereliability security and extensibility of our selfhostedofferings.
    YourRole &Responsibilities
    • Architectdesign and implement backend solutions for selfhosted softwareapplications.
    • Collaborate closely with frontenddevelopers SREs and other stakeholders to deliver seamless endtoenduser experiences.
    • Design maintain and enhanceour existing infrastructure necessary to support our softwareapplications.
    • Develop and maintain APIsensuring they are welldocumented performant and easy touse.
    • Implement and optimize database structuresto support the scalability and performance requirements ofselfhosted applications.
    • Contribute to thedevelopment of automated deployment processes for selfhostedenvironments.
    • Participate in code reviewsensuring adherence to coding standards and bestpractices.
    • Create and maintain technicaldocumentation for backend systems API endpoints and deploymentprocedures.

    RequiredSkills
    1. Proficiency inbackend languages such as Python Go orsimilar.
    2. Experience in designing andimplementing selfhostable softwaresolutions.
    3. Strong understanding of databasesystems both relational (e.g. PostgreSQL MySQL) and nonrelational(e.g. MongoDB).
    4. Familiarity withcontainerization technologies such as Docker for packaging anddeploying software.
    5. Knowledge of RESTful APIdesign principles and best practices.
    6. Versioncontrol proficiency particularly withGit.
    7. Experience with continuous integration anddeployment (CI/CD) processes.
    8. Understanding ofsecurity best practices in softwaredevelopment.

    Niceto haves
    • Being ahomelabber with experience in setting up and maintaining a personalhomelab environment.
    • Familiarity with frontendtechnologies (React Angular ).
    • Experiencewith GraphQL.
    • Knowledge of orchestration toolslike Kubernetes.
    • Exposure to decentralized andpeertopeer architectures.
    • Interest inopensource contributions or personal projects related to selfhostedapplications.
