- Gain an understanding of Caterpillar's business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures.
- Learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic accounting knowledge, and
- Aid a project team or others in the work group.
- Perform monthly product cost analysis
- Cost system maintenance – validate costs pulled in the dashboard, ensure validated product costs reports are available for decision support.
- Prime product and/or component cost monitoring & analysis – Quarterly cost change analysis
- Identify the root cause for costing griefs, resolve griefs in the system, and ensure calculation of standard/product costs in the system.
- Enterprise coordination and/or governance of costing activities
- Standard cost revision support
- Fresher with an accounting/commerce degree/undergraduate/part qualified accounting professional with 6 months to 2 years of experience.
- Effective communications skills and a good understanding of computer systems especially in MS-Office and Financial Analytics Tool.
- Good accounting background, thorough knowledge of cost accounting methodologies, and working knowledge in ERP systems.
- Must be a team player with effective communication skills and willingness to take initiative.

From the outset, incumbent will be expected to be a contributing performer, doing staff level accounting work that supports business processes.
Additionally, this position will:
Accountants will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and will accomplish a high level of compilation and basic analysis work, reviewing clerical input and generating reports.
