    Description

    Job Title: Legal (Deputy Manager/ Manager)

    Location: Mumbai

    What you'll do:

    • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements about a variety of music and entertainment-related rights including agreements relating to the acquisition of content, licensing and distribution of content across platforms, professional services engagement, production, marketing, termination/release, merchandising, synchronization and adaptation agreements with production houses/brands/platforms/ music supervisors etc.
    • Summarizing executed contracts and managing a repository thereof. Implementing agreements post-execution.
    • Replying to the legal queries of other departments, including reviewing artwork, label copy, videos, advertising, and other marketing and promotional materials.
    • Investigating, analyzing, and responding to a variety of claims, including copyright infringement, audit, breach of contract, publicity, and trademark, and working with the team to develop litigation strategies.
    • Drafting cease and desist notices, managing and providing litigation support, and coordinating with external counsels for the same.
    • Providing current and relevant legal policy, practices, and information to relevant functions (advice on statutory compliance) and identifying and acting on emerging legal affairs and changes.
    • Liaise with other business units and departments, and perform any other duties and tasks related to the legal team's role and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.

    Who you are:

    • LLB/LLM with at least 7 years of experience with 5 years in entertainment in music industry
    • In-depth understanding of the areas of the law applicable to the music business, such as copyright, contract, and trademark.
    • Excellent organization, analytical, and time-management skills, including the ability to work independently, follow deadlines, and effectively multitask.
    • Excellent communication skills, and superior negotiating and drafting skills.
    • General music industry and/or copyright law knowledge is highly essential.
