    Job Title:Tourism Development Planner

    Job Description:We are seeking a dynamic Tourism Development Planner to join our team. As a Tourism Development Planner, you will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction and sustainable growth of tourism destinations through comprehensive planning and development initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct market research and analysis to identify tourism trends, opportunities, and challenges.
    • Develop comprehensive tourism development plans, strategies, and policies to enhance visitor experiences, support local economies, and protect natural and cultural resources.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, tourism boards, local communities, and private sector partners, to align tourism development efforts with community needs, aspirations, and values.
    • Design destination marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and visitor information resources to attract target markets and drive tourism demand.
    • Integrate sustainability principles into tourism planning and development initiatives, promoting responsible tourism practices, environmental conservation, and socio-cultural integrity.
    • Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) technologies to analyze spatial data and support evidence-based decision-making in tourism planning and development.
    • Lead community engagement and stakeholder consultation processes to solicit input, build consensus, and foster ownership of tourism development initiatives.
    • Prepare feasibility studies, business plans, and financial models to assess the economic viability and financial sustainability of tourism projects and investments.
    • Monitor and evaluate the implementation of tourism development plans, tracking progress against objectives, indicators, and performance targets.
    • Stay updated on emerging trends, innovations, and best practices in tourism planning, destination management, and sustainable tourism development.

    Qualifications:

    • Master's degree in Tourism/Urban Planning or equivalent.
    • M.Phil/Ph.D/Post-Doctoral in the same field is preferable.
    • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Development Plans/Structural Plans/Action Plans with experience in GIS/RS based Development plans.
    • Experience leading area-based planning assignments with regard to Local Area Plans.
    • Familiarity with coastal zone and island tourism development is desirable.
    • Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural and geographic contexts.
    • Commitment to sustainable tourism principles and ethical tourism practices.
