    Overview

    The PsychiatryAssociate Professor position at our medical college is a crucialrole that contributes to the academic and clinical excellence ofour institution. The individual in this role will be responsiblefor teaching conducting research and providing clinical expertisein the field of psychiatry while also contributing to theprofessional development of students andfaculty.

    KeyResponsibilities

    • Deliver engaging andinformative lectures on psychiatry topics to medicalstudents.
    • Supervise and mentor students intheir clinical psychiatric rotations.
    • Conductresearch in the field of psychiatry and secure funding for researchprojects.
    • Provide clinical expertise inpsychiatric assessment and treatment within the medical collegesaffiliated hospitals.
    • Participate in curriculumdevelopment and assessmentprocesses.
    • Contribute to faculty meetings andengage in departmental initiatives.
    • Participatein professional development activities and continuing education inthe field of psychiatry.
    • Support and guidestudents in scholarly activities such as research projects andpublications.
    • Collaborate with other facultymembers and medical professionals in interdisciplinaryinitiatives.
    • Contribute to the assessment andevaluation of student performance.
    • Engage incommunity outreach activities related to mental health awarenessand education.
    • Serve on academic committees andtask forces within the medicalcollege.
    • Participate in accreditation processesand maintain compliance withstandards.
    • Contribute to the development andimplementation of psychiatric initiatives within the medicalcollege.

    RequiredQualifications

    • Doctor of Medicine(MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)degree.
    • Board certification inPsychiatry.
    • Minimum of 5 years of clinicalexperience in psychiatry.
    • Experience inteaching medical students residents or fellows in an academicsetting.
    • Demonstrated record of scholarlyactivity in psychiatry such as publications and researchgrants.
    • Ability to obtain medical licensure inthe state of practice.
    • Strong communication andinterpersonal skills.
    • Dedication toprofessional development and continuingeducation.
    • Commitment to promoting diversityand inclusivity within the academicenvironment.
    • Ability to work collaboratively ina teambased environment.
    • Leadership skills andthe ability to mentor and guide students and juniorfaculty.
    • Experience in curriculum developmentand academic administration ispreferred.
    • Understanding of accreditationstandards and processes in medicaleducation.
    • Active involvement in professionalorganizations related to psychiatry and medicaleducation.
    • Experience in community engagementand advocacy in the field of mentalhealth.
