Job Description··Understand the Application portfolio landscape of the Western Cape Government (WCG)

• Work closely with Development and Enterprise Architecture teams for solution design, architecture, and application alignment.
• Provide solution architecture guidance to various application development teams.
• Conducting interviews with key role-players within the various departments to further understand their business processes, needs, and challenges.
• Conducting feasibility studies.
• Preparing business cases and conducting an initial risk assessment.
• Conducting solution assessments and validation.
• Conducting presentations of the deliverables for playback to the Business.
• Conducting playback sessions with the Business to ensure that the information extracted from the business documents and through the interview process are correct.
• Produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements.
• Produce process flow analysis and process redesign documents.
• Share best practices and be consultative to teams and clients.
• Collaborate with Technical Architects / Technology Managers and Application development Managers to produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.
• Provide current best practices and 3rd Party solution alternatives as part of the functional design document in alignment with WCG standards and application portfolio roadmaps.
• Participate and lead, when needed, project meetings with the customer.
• Participate in internal projects as required.
• Experience with enterprise integration tools and extract, transformation, and load (ETL) tools.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Good Knowledge of Cloud Solutions, Services, Cloud development.
• Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into solution designs.
• Knowledge of web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture, enterprise application architecture, mobile application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints.
• Must demonstrate good judgment and pragmatic approach to delivering a solution that optimizes architecture activities across company needs, business constraints and technological realities.
• Should have participated in and be familiar with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and Agile project management methodologies.
• Proven Solutions consulting experience in large enterprises.

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science and/or Software Engineering and/or Information Systems and/or Information Technology and/or related.
• Minimum of 7 years' experience with Microsoft and/or Oracle and/or AWS as a solutions architect.
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) &
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software

RequirementsNQF 6 or higher tertiary qualifications. Must have a valid (not expired) IT architecture certificate.

TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework) v9 or later certification is preferred but would not be detrimental to the bidder, should the resource not have a TOGAF certificate.

Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Enterprise Architect. Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Solution Architect.
