    Position Overview:

    This role will have the opportunity to influence how one of the leading organizational effectiveness firms uses data science to run a more efficient business, deliver more robust advice, develop new service offerings, and unlock hidden keys to leadership performance. Kincentric continues to evolve its business, growing the value it brings to clients through the development of proprietary services and tools, and the use of emerging technologies.

    Kincentric seeks a Data Scientist with a consultative, entrepreneurial style. The individual will focus on solving business problems with appropriate analytical solutions that have positive financial impact on the organization. The individual must be able to communicate technical concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff. A continuous learning orientation will aid in understanding and overcoming business challenges as well as discovering how to demonstrate new forms and sources of data to deliver actionable analytical insights.

    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities will focus on solution innovation and insights development, including:

    • Building, maintaining, and enhancing existing NLP analytics tools used in our delivery processes
    • Working with our Consulting, Data & Analytics Lead to innovate and deliver new tools (for use internally or externally) that enable data exploration and/or deliver new insights to our clients as part of our consulting solutions.
    • Stay conversant in new analytic technologies, architectures, and languages – where necessary – for storing, processing, and manipulating data
    • Develop a flair for the exploratory and experimental side of the role; required to tease out interesting and previously unknown insights in vast pools of data
    • Database management and benchmark generation
    • Work collaboratively with other members of the data and analytics, consulting, and technology teams to support the development of deeper analytics capabilities across the business globally
    • Breakdown of time spent: 40% Technical, 20% Collaboration, 20% Consulting, 10% Mentoring, 10% Tool Development/Maintenance/Bug Fixing

    Technical Skills:

    Must Have:

    • Proficient in analytical programming, including R/Python
    • Statistical Knowledge: Predictive analysis, Exploratory analysis, Descriptive analysis, Time series analysis, Factor analysis etc.
    • Proficient understanding of natural language processing (NLP), including knowledge of pre-trained models (e.g., BERT, VADER, RoBERTa, etc.)
    • Expertise in building and deploying predictive models, including: Significance Testing, Factor Analysis, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, Random Forests, Gradient Boosting, SVMs, Time Series, KMeans
    • Experience with visualization tools such as PowrBI, Tableau or QlikSense including some experience of server set-up
    • Proficient at Microsoft Office Tools, especially Excel and usage of macros
    • Data Management, Delivery Automation, Operational Efficiency, Reporting Specialist
    • In-depth Knowledge of machine learning and deep learning
    • Focus on strategy, design, and execution of data-centric business problems, and in the process create unique analytical solutions comprising Big Data management supported by advanced analytical techniques (e.g., machine learning, neural networks, A/B testing, etc.)

    Preferred:

    • Knowledge of SQL Server or other relational database management systems.
    • Proficiency programming in R
    • Azure, AWS, or other cloud infrastructure experience preferable.
    • Preferred experience with web-scrapping

    Education & Soft Skills Required:

    Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or other closely related field.

    Work Experience:

    Minimum 5-10 years' experience in data analytics and quantitative modelling, with significant work experience in advanced analytics / statistics projects and technical contributor
