Description

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of a Change & Release Management Specialist is to oversee and coordinate the planning, approval, implementation, and documentation of changes and releases within an IT environment.

This includes ensuring that changes to infrastructure, software, or systems are executed with minimal risk and maximum effectiveness, adhering to organizational policies, industry standards, and best practices.

They work closely with stakeholders to ensure that the release of new versions or updates is smooth, thoroughly tested, and well-documented.

Key Responsibilities

Carries out subject matter expert responsibilities for designated clients.
Integrates change management activities into project plans to meet project deadlines.
Analyses, assesses, prioritizes, and categorizes change requests.
Plans, schedules, and oversees the release of new software, features, or updates.
Collaborates with development, testing, operations, and other teams to ensure releases meet quality standards.
Manages the deployment process to ensure releases are rolled out without disruption or service downtime.
Chairs CAB & E-CAB and ensures all preparations are duly performed.
Identifies change requests that have not been acted upon in a timely manner and takes appropriate action.
Reviews all implemented changes to ensure they have been carried out and closed in time.
Regularly interacts with SDM through service quality reviews.
Actively participates and engages from the initial stage of improvement projects through successful implementation.

Requirements

5+ years of Change & Release management experience, with 2 years or equivalent experience in ITSM (total experience can be gained at various levels i.e. Service Desk, MIM, Change etc.).
