Role: Software Development Engineer in Test Lead

Duration: 12 months contract to hire role

Onsite: Chennai location

Requirements

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and extensive experience.
• Proficiency in Python with extensive hands-on experience in designing and implementing robust testing frameworks, such as pytest, selenium, playwright, or similar technologies.
• 5-8 years of progressive experience in automated testing, with a focus on leading teams and driving quality initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in API testing and automation, including practical experience with tools like Postman, Swagger, or similar frameworks.
• Proven track record of leading QA teams in complex software testing projects, including hands-on involvement in test planning, execution, and reporting.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions (GHA), Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, particularly SCRUM, with experience in leading Agile testing teams and integrating testing processes seamlessly within Agile workflows.
• Excellent communication skills with a proficiency in English, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Leadership and mentorship experience, with the ability to inspire and guide team members to achieve high-quality results and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify testing gaps, recommend solutions, and drive implementation of best practices for software testing and quality assurance.
