Technical Specialist - MS SQL DBA


Experience :

• 6 8 Years (relevant to MSSQL DBA)

Education :
Any Graduate (BSC,BE,MCA or higher), professional certification C-DAC, MCDBA, MCP


Technical Skills (Desired) :

Roles & responsibilities :

Assessment/Self Rating :
1 Installation, configuration and upgrading of Microsoft SQL Server software and related products.

2 Evaluate MSSQL features and MSSQL related products.

3 Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures, Setup and maintain documentation and standards, Plan growth and changes (capacity management planning).

4 Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges).

5 Database performance tuning and optimization.

6 Do general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams.

7 Interface with MSSQL for technical support & SQL clustering installation troubleshooting skills.

8 SQL log shipping/mirroring /replication installation and troubleshooting skills.

9 MSSQL DR drill executions and coordination's.

10 T-SQL scripting knowledge for automation tasks.

11 ITIL Skill set requirement (Problem Management/Incident Good

12 Understanding of Windows and MSSQL hardening

13 Apply RDBMS patches or upgrade the Edition/Instances as and when required, as per the approval from the respective Team Leaders.

14 Compliance audits of the setups done by the fellow engineers to make sure that the setup being handed over to the customer is done to the customer's satisfaction.

15 Need to make sure that issues are handled in right time frames as per the SLA / commitments.
