Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Civil Engineer based in Jalandhar. The Civil Engineer will be responsible for planning and designing key infrastructure projects, focusing on civil engineering design and stormwater management. On a day-to-day basis, the Civil Engineer will work collaboratively with teams, oversee project implementation, analyze data, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role requires contributing to the development of sustainable and efficient solutions aligned with the company's green mission.

*Job Purpose*

To own material selection, procurement coordination, application methods, quality assurance, and overall finish & aesthetics of portable houses, washrooms, site offices, and modular cabins, ensuring durability, cost efficiency, and a premium visual finish.

*Key Responsibilities*

*1. Material Selection & Standardization*

*Finalize materials for:*

Wall panels, insulation, roofing sheets

Flooring systems

Doors, windows, partitions

Interior finishes (laminates, PVC, boards, paint, fittings)

*Evaluate materials for:*

Strength & durability

Weather & thermal performance

Cost-effectiveness

Visual appeal & finish quality

Standardize materials for repeat production models

*2. Procurement Support & Vendor Coordination*

*Identify and develop vendors for:*

Panels, insulation, flooring, fittings, accessories

*Coordinate with procurement team for:*

Technical approvals

Sample evaluation

Material comparison (cost vs performance)

Ensure correct material is ordered as per approved specification

*3. Material Application & Execution Control*

Define correct application methods for each material:

Fixing techniques

Adhesives, fasteners, sealants

Joint finishing and waterproofing

Guide fabrication and installation teams on:

Proper handling and installation

Avoiding damage, warping, or poor finish

Resolve on-floor material-related issues

*4. Quality Assurance & Finish Control*

*Ensure final cabins meet:*

Structural integrity from material perspective

Clean, uniform, premium finish

*Inspect:*

Panel alignment

Joint finishing

Flooring level & edges

Door/window fitment

Reject substandard materials or workmanship

*5. Aesthetics & Visual Appeal*

*Ensure cabins have:*

Consistent color themes

Neat interior and exterior appearance

Clean detailing and finishing

Suggest improvements in:

Material combinations

Interior look & feel

Customer-facing aesthetics

*6. Documentation & Material Control*

*Maintain:*

Approved material list

Vendor-wise material database

Application guidelines / SOPs

*Support creation of:*

Basic material usage manuals

Quality checklists for factory & site

*Required Skills & Competencies*

Strong knowledge of construction & finishing materials

Understanding of prefab / modular construction methods

Good eye for quality and aesthetics

Practical, execution-oriented mindset

Ability to work closely with factory & site teams

*Experience & Qualification*

*3–6 years experience in:*

Prefab / modular structures

Interiors / portable cabins / PEB finishing works

*Diploma / Degree in:*

Civil Engineering / Construction / Interiors / Architecture (preferred)

*Software & Tools*

AutoCAD – Basic understanding (layouts & details)

Excel – Material tracking & comparison

Vendor catalogs & datasheets – Must be comfortable

Qualifications

• Experience in Civil Engineering Design and Civil Engineering projects
• Proficiency in Planning and Stormwater Management
• Expertise in Civil Engineering concepts and related practices
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Practical understanding of sustainable and eco-friendly designs is a plus
• Good communication and team collaboration abilities
