    BT Group Tax is a large and dynamic tax team, accountable for all taxes, covering tax compliance and reporting, as well as tax advisory support to the BT businesses.

    We seek to lead against our peer group in developing new ways of working, embracing new technology and actively participating in HMRC consultations and the tax simplification agenda.


    We have a competent and professional team in Gurugram, India, which is a part of Group Tax team and currently managing various tax and transfer pricing compliances globally to support the Group to manage its effective tax rate and tax risk governance.

    This new position will work directly with Group Tax Manager and the wider Group Tax team to ensure that the Group Tax's goals and objectives are achieved.


    What you'll be doingAs part of the BT Group Tax Centre of Excellence- India, you will support the BT Group Tax and the wider finance/tax teams globally in tax compliances, analyses and reporting in respect of one or more tax areas including transfer pricing, Corporate Tax, VAT and Employment Tax.

    For this purpose, you will also be working together with the respective local finance and tax teams, group finance colleagues and external advisors, as may be required.


    Your responsibilities include:


    Co-ordinate with wider finance, tax and other stakeholders for gathering the relevant information required for preparation of the various TP reports / Tax returns/ Analyses.

    Assist with preparation of the Group's TP documentation strategy having regard to the relevant changes in the local regulations, internal trading policies or any other factors.

    To adhere to the approved processes in respect of various tax compliances/ reporting including preparation of TP reports.
    Suggest areas for process improvements/ automation and drive implementation of approved changes with a consistent and proactive approach.
    To timely report the progress of work, achievements and risks, if any, to your line manager.
    To answer queries raised by internal stakeholders /auditors/ local tax authorities/ advisors in consultation with your line manager.

    To keep a regular track of the transfer pricing developments globally, help to analyse the relevant changes from a BT perspective and update the relevant stakeholders timely.

    To support in various on-going Tax process improvement projects by effective use of various technology tools.


    We'll also need to see these on your CVTypically, a professionally qualified accountant experienced in Transfer Pricing documentation and international tax compliances with 2-3 years of post-qualification experience in a reputed multinational corporation or consultancy firm.

    Expert level knowledge on MS Office (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Power Point). Working knowledge of MS Teams and SharePoint.
    Good exposure to technology in general e.g. an ERP environment like Oracle/ SAP.

    Experience in ERP implementation, Tax Automation projects (such as the UK Making Tax Digital (MTD), GST/ VAT implementations, RPA projects) would be preferred.

    Experience in working in a multinational environment and your ability to communicate effectively in a complex and dynamic organisational environment.

    Good knowledge about telecommunication industry will be a good addition.
