- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources (databases, APIs, log files, sensors, etc.) into our data warehouse or data lake.
- Write efficient and maintainable code using programming languages like Python, Java, or Scala.
- Work with big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) and distributed computing platforms (e.g., AWS EMR, GCP Dataproc) to handle large datasets.
- Develop and implement data quality checks and monitoring procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and design optimal data solutions.
- Stay up-to-date on emerging data engineering technologies and best practices (e.g., cloud data warehousing, data streaming).
- Automate data engineering tasks and processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Secure and manage data storage and access according to data governance best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in a data engineering role or similar technical role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala (or a combination).
- Experience with big data frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) (a plus).
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, GCP Cloud Storage) (a plus).
- Experience with data warehousing concepts (e.g., dimensional modeling) (a plus).
- Familiarity with data quality tools and techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
