    About the Organisation -

    The organization was founded in 1995, to provide pre-school education to children in Mumbai slums. Over the last 27 years, the organisation has grown to be one of the largest non-profit organizations working to provide quality education to children and youth in over 20 states and union territories across the country, through a range of interventions.

    SALT Program Objective -

    The DoSE, GoAP, with World Bank assistance, is implementing the Supporting Andhras Learning Transformation (SALT) project with the objective of implementing localized, state-context-aligned activities and innovations for improving the quality of education in government schools. SALT aims to enhance human capital and achieve sustained reduction in learning poverty across all districts of the state. One of the key result areas of the SALT project is to strengthen foundational learning for children in the state. Towards this goal, SALT will work on the provision of ECE through a model of strategic convergence between DoSE and DoWD&CW. The focus of this model of convergence would need to be on establishing a clear pedagogical continuum between ECE at the Anganwadis and the Early Grades (Grades 1 and 2). For the successful implementation of the project, has been hired to facilitate the coordination between DoSE and DoWD&CW.

    To facilitate this coordination, a Program Management Unit (PMU) will be set up within the Department of Women Development and Child Welfare for the effective planning and implementation of the Supporting Andhras Learning Transformation (SALT) Project.

    Responsibilities -

    • Conduct regular check-ins, at least one weekly, with the Director and other senior officials of the WD& CW department to apprise them of plans created, content developed and activities conducted by towards meeting the ECCE-related goals of the SALT project.
    • Seek inputs from the department on the above and communicate these in a timely and effective manner to the Project Director and other relevant team members.
    • Serve as a liaison between the department leadership and the leadership to ensure alignment of expectations and plans.
    • Effectively and timely communicate the support the organisation needs from the department for finalization of curriculum and content and effective implementation of training, monitoring support and assessment.
    • Work with the department to garner necessary support; identify, escalate and address challenges; and provide timely information to project leadership on what support can be expected and by when.
    • Make field visits to ensure training and implementation is proceeding as planned, and highlight key issues to the department and project leadership.
    • Prepare and disseminate necessary activity reports and presentations.
    • Any other tasks, as assigned


    Qualifications -

    • Graduate, with minimum 1-2 years of work experience in the development sector
    • Prior experience of closely working with government stakeholders is preferable
    • Demonstration of core beliefs and values of Pratham - a learning and listening
      mindset, evidence and analytical decision-making, respect for teams and colleagues, and agility and efficiency in planning and execution.
    • Analytical thinker with attention to detail; being resourceful and possessing strong
      problem-solving skills.
    • Strong communication (oral and written) skills. Proficiency in English and Telugu is
      mandatory.
    • Ability to manage tight deadlines, and keep composure under stressful work conditions,
    • Willingness to undertake frequent regular travel, including to remote locations.
