The activities performed by the incumbent include:Responsibility area 1 (Operational)· Daily monitoring the performance wrt critical operating parameters of all the critical equipments in the plant.· Guide production and maintenance department to troubleshoot the equipment opetrational problem.· Provide/ update the SOPs for any new change in process or equipment operation and give training to respective plant operators.· Prepare capex proposals clearly stating the savings and payback period for new modifications in the plant to improve operating convenience in the plant.

Overall responsibility of technical services activity to support regular plant operations, cost reduction, facility modification, facility creation etc. Train the subordinates wrt. technical competency, personality development, unit operations.
Provide suitable systems for environmental compliance.
Responsibility area 2 (Productivity)

.· To make a plan and implement it to achieve the design output of any of the equipment in the plant.· Track and record the utility and product losses in the plant and get attained by maintenance and production department.· Co ordinate with R & D and equipment vendors to achieve designed performance of the critical equipment and improve the output of critical equipment.

Responsibility area 3 (Quality)Ensure the quality of output of any new equipment or system implemented is as per the desired parameters.

Ensure the quality of output of all critical equipments is as per standard norms. If there is deviation then get it resolved with help of maintenance department or by vendor.

Responsibility area 4 (Safety and environment compliance)Perform HAZOP and HIRA for new processes and plants and modificationsPerform PSSR before and after commissioning of ant new plantEnsure any change / modification is channeled through the management of change.

Implement recommendations of HAZOP study in the P & IDs.
Participate and provide guidance in RCA report.
Implement the schemes to ensure all environmental emission/ discharge norms are within the specified limit. Also implement the systems to reduce the exposure of employee to hazardous gases and dusts.
Responsibility area 5 (Cost)Prepare and implement the capex proposals for reducing the cost of production by recycling and reusing.

To technically compare the various offers of equipment/ instrument and systems from the different vendors do decide cost effective option.

Reduce the utility cost by avoiding the losses, process improvement etc.

Responsibility area 6 (People Development –Self/Team)To train the subordinates in preparing basic engineering packagesTrain the subordinates on trouble shooting, writing reports.

To train the subordinates regarding plant safety and team workTrain the subordinates about feed back and follow up .

JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLSFunctional | Technical Knowledge Required for this Role :Knowledge of chemical processes and unit operations.
Basic process calculations,Energy and mass balance calculations.
Knowledge of Excell, word Autocad softwares.
Process, SOPs and Critical parameters.
Knowledge of HAZOP, HIRA and QEMS .

Exposure Required:
B.E/ B Tech/M.E. / M Tech Chemical with minimum 20 years of experience in Chemical process in core technical services departmentBatch process chemical productionMust have handling a team of more that 10 repartee's
