A) About the Role:

• Candidate should be able to assist in execution of assignments in Accounting, Finance, Audit and Taxation related matters (experience with utilities in power sector preferable). The person shall be aware of accounts and finance related updates in the Country. He should be aware of the relevant Companies Act/ Income Tax Act/ Accounting Standards /Rules/Laws relating to finance, audit and accounts. He should be also aware of laws and policies for taxation in the Country. The person should have assisted in preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual accounts for large size companies ((experience with utilities in power sector preferable). The person should be aware of the statutory audit / cost audit and other relevant audits that are undertaken by Companies in the Country. The person should be able to understand financial reporting, ratios, credit rating etc. and make suggestion for improvement. Basis the years of experience, the candidate can be offered the designation of 'Sr. Analyst/ Analyst – Management Consulting'.

B) Detailed expectations from the role:

The Sr. Analyst/ Analyst will be reporting to the Project Leader, the key (broadly indicative) expectations shall be as under:

• Financial Modelling: Develop financial and cost optimization models on various accounting, cost and financial aspects independently.
• Research & Reporting: Conduct primary and secondary research, with strong report writing skills, focused on developments in financial sector. Stay updated on Laws/Act/Rules/Regulations related to accounting, finance and taxation.
• Data Analysis: Undertake data compilation, tracking, and analysis on market parameters relating to finances of Company and support project execution through analyses, reports, and presentations. Conduct comprehensive research on various sectors (experience with utilities in power sector preferable). Analyze data, gather insights, and provide recommendations based on findings.
• Timely Deliverables: Support in execution of projects in co-ordination with team leader and team members, ensuring submission of quality deliverables within timelines
• Client Interactions: Work closely with clients to understand their requirements, provide consulting services, and deliver solutions aligned with their objective of the assignment. Assist in client presentations, prepare reports, and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
• Auditing: Evaluate financial records and statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards and regulations. Analyze policy implications, assess their impact on company's overall business and provide recommendations to clients.
• Financial Planning: Provide advice on financial planning, budgeting, and investment strategies to improve a client's financial health.
• Business Development & Outreach: Engage in business development activities, including preparing proposals, concept notes, discussion papers, and brochures. Actively support organizing roundtables, workshops, and stakeholder engagements.
• Financial Reporting: Support in preparing financial statement if required. Suggest client on improving overall health of P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement. He should be aware of Ind AS accounting standards and compliances of standards set by National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA).
• Segregation of Accounts: Should be aware of how cost and accounts can be segregated from single balance within the given accounting standards of the Company (separate unit / business wise statements including developing cost centres). Should be able to understand regulatory provisions and suggest ways for improvement in records of accounting
• Credit rating: Understand the process of credit rating and suggest ways for improvement in credit rating of the Company
• Asset Monetization: Suggest client on increasing revenue generation through asset monetization
• Budgeting: Should be able to estimate realistic budget for ensuing financial year in order to ensure appropriate allocation of funds.
• Funding Plan/Fund Raising: Should be able to analyze existing funding and future funding requirement and give suggestion for optimal funding to the Company through various fund raising options.
• Benchmarking: Understand the financial aspects of peer Companies and suggest improvements from learnings through other peer companies.
• Internal Policy Making: Assess the existing policies of the Company (such as Asset Retirement Policy, Risk Management Policy, Capitalisation Policy, Scrap Policy etc.) and suggest improvement in developing robust policies.
• Capacity Building: Should be able to give training on various financial aspects to officials of the Company for their capacity building.

C) Required skill set

• Should be able to do multi-tasking on assignments and be able to deliver in typical consulting environment.
• Should have experience in financial/accounting/taxation/auditing of Companies (experience with utilities in power sector preferable)
• Should have experience in working on accounting policies, rules/regulations relating to financial sector.
• Should have undertaking auditing activities and made observation and give suggestion to Companies based on audit.
• Should be updated about the latest trends/changes/updates in the financial sector, regulatory scenario including the new policy notifications, Electricity Act Amendments, new Regulations, key judgements of higher courts, updates in Companies Act, Income Tax Act etc.
• Should have Strong written and oral communications skills.
• Should have Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Should have Excellent interpersonal skills to manage both internal as well as external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel and Power point)
• Should have Excellent ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Should be proficient in data analysis and presentation tools.

D) Education and Experience

• Chartered Accountant
• At least 4-5 years of relevant experience in a reputed consulting firm/ Power Utilities/ Financial Institutions / Banks / Audit & Taxation firms etc.

E) Location

• Base location shall be Mumbai, Maharashtra
• Applicant should be open to travel within country to manage Projects. He/ She should also be willing to relocate (if required) to other locations within country based on project requirements.
