    Job Summary:

    The client is looking for a Java Backend Developer:

    This person will work within an Engineering team responsible for providing application development, troubleshooting, and maintenance for multiple operationally critical applications within the supply chain space. The primary responsibilities of this role are to help the team maintain current legacy applications and work to continuously improve upon existing processes & tools and developing and modernize applications.

    Responsibilities:

    He/she will become expert on multiple applications maintained by the team (understand business processes, application behavior, business operations, priorities and criticality), prioritize issues for triage/troubleshooting by self and/or team, and participate in ticket troubleshooting individually and with peers. Will interface regularly with peer Development teams, peer support teams, Business Partners & stores for investigations, triaging, workaround communications, outage notifications, and assessments to improve existing processes.

    Qualifications:

    5+ years of software development experience in a professional environment and/or comparable experience such as: Hands-on expertise with application design, software development, and automated testing. 5+ years of active engineering experience in a complex environment and/or comparable experience such as successful engineering and deployment of enterprise-grade technology assets in an Agile product environment. Hands-on coding experience in JavaScript, React, Redux, HTML, CSS is required. Hands-on experience in developing high performance backend applications using a variety of technologies, with specific expertise in Java (including advanced design pattern & common libraries) and cloud native technologies is a plus. Ability to construct enterprise-grade APIs using state-of-the-art techniques and best practices (REST, JSON, XML, etc.). Knowledge and expertise in Microservices Architecture, Data Centric application design, Event Driven Systems, Kafka, Cornerstone, Data pipelines, Stream processing systems etc. is a plus. Experience using database systems like MongoDB, PostgresQL in a high performance and resilient configurations is a plus. Technical and business knowledge in various servicing domains is a plus.
