Werelooking for an experienced professional for our LCA Datateam

We are looking for anenthusiastic LCA Data Engineer / Programmer to join our fastgrowingteam and develop our database of Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) andother environmentaldata. Your work is valuable to all of our lifecycle assessment tools but has a particularly significant impact onour solutions for manufacturersto createEPDs.

The successful candidate will work as partof the data team atOne Click LCA in creating integrating andmaintaining data socustomers can easily accurately andcomprehensively calculate their environmental impacts tocomplywithenvironmentalregulations in architecture engineeringconstruction andmanufacturingindustries.

Primarily the job involves creatingor integratingnew data using LCIA characterization approachesbasedon identifiedcustomer needs andgaps in our current data portfolio.The work involves advanced LCA programming such as building datamodels based on process and hybrid LCA systemmodels.

Hypothetical example projects you couldbe working on include:

• Characteriseand integrate a new Ecoinvent LCI databaseversion
• Characterise an LCI database using theopenLCA API

The job is ideallysuited for a candidatewith a background in the sustainabilitydomain who wants to advance their career by diving deep into LCAprogramming.Candidates with a strong programming background who areinterested ingainingadvancedknowledge in the sustainability domainespecially in LCA and computational sustainability assessments arealso welcome to apply.

Youwill join an international team of experts in building materialsengineering LCA and data analysis responsible for the largestconstruction LCA database in the world.

What youneed:

• Masters degree in arelevant field (sustainability engineeringprogramming)
• Strong foundation in LCAconcepts
• Experience with advanced programmingin LCA especially with LCA databases (both process andInputoutput)
• Deep understanding of themechanics of LCA computation and LCA data models (LCIAcharacterization impact indicator creation LCIA generationinventory methods elementaryflows)
• Demonstrated ability to handle a varietyof data sciencerelated tasks such as parsing different kinds ofdata formats (JSON CSV XML XLSX) data cleaning and preparation foranalysis analyticsand visualisation
• Goodknowledge about EPDs ISO LCA standards (ISO 14040/44 ISO 14067)carbon footprinting and product category rules(PCRs)
• Demonstrated ability and interest increating good documentation (concept notes technical papersresearch publications)
• 2 years of experience inprojects related to quantitative sustainability assessmentsinvolving programming matrixbased computations data mining and datamodelling
• Proficiency in programming languagespreferably Python
• Programming experience inother languages related to data and sustainability assessments is asignificant plus (e.g. R Matlab C)
• Experiencewith Brightway software
• Understanding ofsoftware engineering practices database management (SQL) textprocessing (e.g. regex) and scrapingtechniques
• Experience in API programming is asignificant plus (in general or with other LCA software likeopenLCA for IPC scripting)
• Ability toplanprioritise and organise work
• Ability to workindependently take initiative adapt to changeand deliverresults
• Good command of English both oral andwritten for team communication
