    Job Title: Senior Backend Software Engineer

    About Us:
    PAYTM is India's leading digital payments and financial services company, focused on driving consumers and merchants to its platform through various payment use cases. To merchants, PAYTM offers acquiring devices such as Soundbox, EDC, QR, and Payment Gateway, where payment aggregation is done through PPI and other banks' financial instruments. Additionally, PAYTM offers merchants commerce services through advertising and the Paytm Mini app store.

    Operating on this platform leverage, PAYTM then offers credit services such as merchant loans, personal loans, and Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), sourced by its financial partners.

    About the Role:
    As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will work closely with senior technology professionals to develop high-quality software aligned with our business strategy and user demands.

    Requirements:
    • 1+ years of server-side application development experience with Java and Spring Boot.
    • Deep technical expertise with a proven track record of successful delivery.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit combined with strong program and product management skills.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex plans and designs.
    • Strong judgment, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent design and architecture design capabilities.
    • Data-driven decision making.

    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science from IIT/NITs.

    Skills for Success in this Role:
    • Proficiency in Java/Node and RDBMS databases.
    • Experience with messaging technologies like Kafka/RabbitMQ and caching tools like Redis/Aerospike.
    • Knowledge of microservices architecture and AWS platforms.
    • Good experience in scaling, performance tuning, and optimization at both API and storage layers.
