Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced L2 SAP Basis & Security Administrator with 4–5 years of hands-on experience in S/4HANA environments.
The candidate should have strong exposure to RISE with SAP, SLTA assessments, EWA remediation activities, SAP Cloud ALM configuration, DMS, Archiving concepts, and SAP Security & Authorization.
The role requires strong troubleshooting capability and experience handling cloud-based SAP landscapes.Key Responsibilities
SAP Basis Administration (S/4HANA)
- Perform S/4HANA system monitoring, performance tuning, and regular health checks
- Handle system refreshes (PRD to QAS), client copies, and transport management (STMS)
- Perform kernel upgrades, Support Pack implementation, SPAM/SAINT activities
- Support upgrade activities using SUM tool
- Monitor background jobs (SM36/SM37), dumps (ST22), locks (SM12), system logs (SM21)
- Manage RFC connections and spool administration
- Monitor SAP HANA database, perform space management and performance analysis
- Handle SAP license measurement and FUE optimization activities
- Strong understanding of RISE with SAP architecture and hyperscaler environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
- Coordinate with SAP RISE support teams for infrastructure-related activities
- Troubleshoot tunnel connectivity and landscape-level issues
- Basic understanding of HA/DR concepts in cloud-based SAP environments
- Knowledge of SAP Cloud ALM monitoring and integration
- Participate in SLTA technical assessments and audits
- Perform system sizing validation and performance benchmarking
- Provide optimization recommendations for S/4HANA systems
- Prepare technical documentation and assessment reports
- Analyze SAP EarlyWatch Alert (EWA) reports
- Identify critical performance, security, and database issues
- Perform remediation activities based on EWA findings
- Track recurring issues and implement preventive measures
- Coordinate with SAP support for high-priority EWA alerts
- Configure SAP Cloud ALM for monitoring S/4HANA landscape
- Set up system integration and data collection
- Configure alerts, dashboards, and health monitoring
- Monitor jobs, interfaces, integration scenarios, and system health
- Generate and present monitoring reports to stakeholders
- Hands-on experience in SAP Archiving (SARA)
- Data volume management and large table analysis
- Exposure to HANA DB partitioning concepts
- Basic knowledge of DMS (Document Management System)
- Experience in data cleanup and space reclamation activities
- User administration using SU01
- Role creation and modification using PFCG
- Creation and management of Single and Composite roles
- Troubleshooting authorization issues using SU53, SU56, ST01
- Understanding of SoD concepts
- Transport management of roles across landscape
- Exposure to SAP GRC is an added advantage
- L2 level incident handling within SLA timelines
- Root Cause Analysis documentation
- CR implementation and emergency transport handling
- Coordination with functional teams and SAP support
- Participation in planned maintenance and downtime activities
