    Job Title: Operations Manager - Transportation Team

    We are seeking a talented and driven individual to join our Transportation team as an Operations Manager.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Define, build, and execute transportation processes from Fulfillment centers to sortation hubs and further to the last mile Delivery center network.
    • Hire, train, and build a highly motivated workforce for sort hubs, meeting operational requirements for the city and continuously meeting the Amazon bar on quality and productivity.
    • Ensure enough bandwidth in these sites for peak time volume management.
    • Coordinate with Finance, CS, FC, and Projects teams to matters related to city operations.
    • Conduct performance appraisals of team members and mentor them for handling efficient operations.
    • Continuously improve defined processes and attain a sustained performance standard.

    A Day in the Life

    • Drive key initiatives across the region related to safety, engagement, network speed, cost optimization, etc.
    • Support the site lead during daily operations, WBRs, MBRs, and peak preparedness.
    • Analyze data to identify performance bottlenecks and implement process improvement mechanisms such as Kaizen and Continuous Improvement.
    • Review and finalize the labor plan for the site to optimize cost while ensuring high standards and associate experience.

    Requirements

    • Well-rounded leadership capabilities and people management skills.
    • Ability to adapt to evolving situations and work in ambiguous situations.
    • Good communication skills, ability to communicate and explain objectives, listening skills to gain input and commitment from all involved.
    • Ability to set and achieve timelines for tasks, orientation for great customer service, high ownership, and analytical skills.

    Experience

    • 3+ years of employee and performance management experience.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
    • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
    • 1+ years of performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques experience.
