- Install, configure, and maintain the multi-node, Linux Tableau Server environment, including upgrades and patches.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings for Tableau Server.
- Monitor system performance (thru Metadata & Admin views) and troubleshoot any issues related to Tableau and/or it's connectivity/integrations to other systems & databases.
- Automation for tasks like deployment of data sources/workbooks across environment, alerts via scripting (PowerShell/Bash), & integrations with Airflow
- Work closely with Tableau vendor for product fixes, support cases, and enhancements.
- Work with data analysts and scientists to understand their data visualization needs and develop solutions using Tableau.
- Monitor server activity/usage statistics to identify possible performance issues/enhancements.
- Create and maintain data extracts and refreshes to ensure data accuracy and performance.
- Manage and support migration of workbooks, dashboards from development to production environments.
- Document processes and procedures for Tableau administration.
- Stay up to date on the latest Tableau features and best practices.
- Maintaining Server Logs, Server Backups, and exports of Tableau metadata.
- Provide training and support to users on Tableau Desktop and Server.
- 3+ years of experience with Tableau Server administration.
- 3+ years of hands-on technical experience across AWS; experience with Linux is a plus
- 2+ years of experience of coding on Python or Javascript; experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of relational databases - Postgres SQL & Trino/Hive (preferred)
- Experience with Tableau APIs & Airflow (preferred)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
