    We are seeking an experienced Senior Oracle DBA to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our consulting team, you will play a critical role in migrating our mission-critical Oracle databases from on-premises environments to the AWS cloud.     Responsibilities

  • Database Migration:
  • Lead end-to-end migration projects, including planning, execution, and post-migration validation.
  • Assess existing on-premises Oracle databases, analyze their complexity, compatibility, and resource requirements.
  • Design and implement migration strategies, considering factors such as database size, dependencies, and performance.
  • Utilize tools like Oracle Data Pump, RMAN, and AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for seamless data transfer.
  • Oracle Database Administration:
  • Manage Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as backups, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Monitor database health, diagnose issues, and optimize query performance.
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data security using Oracle Data Guard.
  • AWS Cloud Integration:
  • Collaborate with AWS architects and engineers to design scalable and resilient database solutions.
  • Deploy Oracle databases on Amazon RDS, Amazon EC2, or other relevant AWS services.
  • Configure security groups, VPCs, and IAM roles for seamless connectivity.
  • Leverage AWS CloudWatch for monitoring and alarms.
  • Linux System Administration:
  • Administer Linux servers (Red Hat, CentOS, or Ubuntu) hosting Oracle databases.
  • Manage user accounts, file systems, and system resources.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues.
  • Scripting (Bash, Python, or Perl) for automation and system maintenance.
  • Best Practices and Documentation:
  • Follow industry best practices for database security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Mentor junior DBAs and share knowledge within the team.
  • Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA.
  • Proven track record of successfully migrating large Oracle databases to AWS.
  • Strong proficiency in Oracle Database 11g, 12c, or 19c.
  • Excellent SQL and PL/SQL skills.
  • Solid understanding of Linux system administration.
  • Preferred:
  • AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Familiarity with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization.
