    Role Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Litigation Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing, reviewing, and drafting pre-litigation documents, as well as representing clients in court proceedings. The Litigation Associate will have significant experience in hearing and court works, with a strong background in IP, patent, trademark, and design litigation. Exposure to commercial and contractual litigation is desired, and interested candidates are encouraged to apply with sample work they have drafted.

    Job description:

    • Analyze and evaluate legal issues related to litigation matters, including IP disputes, commercial contracts, and other legal matters.
    • Review and assess pre-litigation matters, including demand letters, legal notices, and settlement agreements.
    • Draft and prepare legal documents and pleadings, such as complaints, motions, briefs, and discovery requests, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of litigation strategies, including case assessment, risk analysis, and settlement negotiations.
    • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and mediations, presenting arguments and evidence on their behalf.
    • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies and case preparation.
    • Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to prepare for depositions, arbitrations, and trials.
    • Maintain accurate and organized case files, including document management and electronic filing.
    • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel, providing updates and managing expectations throughout the litigation process.
    • Stay informed of developments in case law, legislation, and legal trends relevant to assigned cases and practice areas.

    Requirements:

    • Strong understanding of intellectual property law and relevant statutes and regulations.
    • Experience in commercial and contractual litigation is desired.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
    • Experience in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and arbitrations.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Interested candidates should submit sample work they have drafted along with their application.

    Educational qualification:

    1. A bachelor's degree in law (LLB) or an equivalent undergraduate degree in law from a recognized university or institution.

    2. While not always mandatory, courses or training in specialized areas of litigation such as civil procedure, evidence, trial advocacy, and legal research and writing can be advantageous.

    3. Proven working experience for 3 - 4 years.
