Overview :
The information security engineer will report to and work under the direction of the lead information security engineer to implement and maintain security solutions and to proactively identify, triage, and remediate security threats. This mid-level security role requires at least 5 years of information security experience and a strong technical background. The role involves ongoing monitoring, analysis, and response to security threats; security operations; and the implementation and maintenance of security tooling. The role will also provide support to users as part of security operations and security-related tickets.
Main Responsibilities :
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate cyber threats to the organization utilizing threat intelligence and vulnerability management processes
- Support and maintain security tooling across all security domains
- Utilize and maintain the SIEM solution for real-time threat detection
- Operate and maintain the EDR solution to proactively identify and mitigate threats on endpoints
- Configure, deploy, and maintain tools across the Microsoft Defender Suite, such as defender for endpoint, defender for cloud apps, defender for identity, and defender for O365
- Configure and maintain the Intune environment. Provide support and guidance to users consuming the technology
- Configure, deploy, and maintain network firewalls to ensure the security of the organization
- Collaborate with MSSPs and other security technology vendors to ensure proper maintenance and support for security solutions
- Work closely with IT teams to integrate security requirements to new systems, applications, and infrastructure deployments
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organizations security posture
- Collaborate with IT teams to harden systems and tooling across the entire IT infrastructure
Job Experience :
- Comprehensive understanding of information security fundamentals and best practices
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 security, including the Defender suite of tools, Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and related security controls
- Experience working with vulnerability management tools in the past, particularly Nessus
- Experience configuring and deploying Microsoft Intune
- Deep understanding of Palo Alto firewall policies, network security principles, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise
- Understanding of IAM principles and best practices around privileged access management
- Experience with scripting and automation preferred but not required
- Must possess the ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong personal efficiency to manage multiple projects and initiatives across various security domains and tools
