    Job Title: Assistant Manager - Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)
    Reporting to: GM Operations/Plant Head
    Location: Hyderabad
    Position Overview:
    The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager for the Factory will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental, health and safety compliance and management within the manufacturing facility. This role requires expertise in EHS regulations, risk assessment, safety training and implementation of safety protocols to maintain a safe and healthy work environment for employees while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This EHS Manager will play a crucial role in promoting a culture of safety and environmental stewardship throughout the Group.
    Key Responsibilities:

    1. EHS Compliance and Regulatory Management:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health and safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
    • Monitor changes in EHS regulations and standards, and implement necessary updates to policies, procedures and practices to maintain compliance.
    • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess EHS performance, identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.

    2. Safety Training and Education:

    • Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees, contractors and visitors on topics such as hazard recognition, PPE usage, emergency response, and chemical safety.
    • Coordinate with department managers to ensure all employees receive appropriate EHS training and certifications as required by regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct periodic safety meetings, toolbox talks and refresher training sessions to reinforce safety awareness and promote best practices.

    3. Safety Management Systems (SMS):

    • Establish and maintain effective Safety Management Systems (SMS) to identify, assess and mitigate workplace hazards and risks.
    • Develop safety procedures, protocols and guidelines for specific tasks, processes and equipment to minimize the potential for accidents, injuries and environmental incidents.
    • Implement incident reporting and investigation procedures to analyze root causes, prevent recurrence and improve safety performance.

    4. Emergency Preparedness and Response:

    • Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures, fire prevention measures, and first aid protocols.
    • Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans and ensure readiness to respond to potential emergencies, such as fires, chemical spills, or medical emergencies.
    • Coordinate with local emergency services and regulatory agencies to facilitate emergency response efforts and comply with reporting requirements.

    5. Environmental Management:

    • Implement environmental management programs to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with permits, regulations and standards.
    • Monitor air emissions, wastewater discharges and hazardous waste generation to assess environmental performance and implement pollution prevention measures
    • Develop strategies to reduce resource consumption, promote recycling and waste reduction and improve overall environmental sustainability.



    Requirements

    Qualificationsand Experience:

    - Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.

    - Minimum of 6 years of experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in API manufacturing plants.

    - In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations, standards and best practices applicable to chem cal manufacturing operations.

    - Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs, conducting risk assessments and implementing safety management systems.
