Description

Role & Responsibilities:

• Experience in operation and maintenance of 350 x 2 TPD DRI Kiln with 0.3 MTPA capacity, 2 x 30-ton Induction Furnaces, and 1.2 Million Ton Pellet Plant.
• Ensure proper preventive maintenance of equipment such as HT/LT panels, PLC panels, drives, weigh feeders, motors, transformers (33 KV 75 MVA & 16 MVA), and 220 KV switchyard equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve breakdown issues of electrical equipment efficiently.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute electrical projects and maintenance activities.
• Understand and interpret electrical drawings, plan projects, and oversee erection and maintenance tasks.
• Apply both practical and theoretical knowledge of electrical instruments for smooth plant operation.
• Conduct regular analysis of electrical load consumption and optimize usage through strategic planning.
• Schedule and plan assignments to meet deadlines and operational goals.
• Provide engineering support to resolve technical issues and execute preventive maintenance schedules to achieve zero breakdown targets.
• Plan and implement shutdown programs to meet maintenance targets.
• Maintain and troubleshoot AC/DC drives, HT/LT motors and control centers, switchgears, weigh feeders, rotary kiln slip rings, DG sets, and transformers.
• Comply with ISO 9001:2000 & 14001 quality systems, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Handle maintenance and repair in large integrated steel plants with exposure to HT/LT motors, drives, breakers, and preventive/breakdown maintenance.
• Manage centralized motor repair workshop including overhauling of AC/DC and HT motors, motor lead brazing, and insulation quality testing.
• Lead the Transformer & Motor Club to coordinate maintenance and reliability improvement activities.
• Coordinate vendor management and inventory control for motors and transformers to reduce costs.
• Conduct electrical condition monitoring and power lab activities, including protection relay testing and diagnostics.
• Perform thermographic inspections of electrical feeders, motors, and transformers to reduce breakdowns.
• Troubleshoot DCS/PLC hardware/software faults; experience with YOKOGAWA CENTUM-V, CS3000, L&T/YASAKAWA, MODICON TSX-QUANTUM, SIEMENS S7-400.
• Handle SCADA systems such as WIN CC and INTELUTION.
• Manage AC/DC drives including IPA, SIEMENS MICROMASTER, YASAKAWA VARISPEED.
• Operate weighing systems and gas analyzers for process control.
• Oversee hydraulics, valves, and various other instrumentation and accessories.
• Supervise project engineering, erection, and commissioning of plant equipment and automation systems in steel melt shops.
• Coordinate with suppliers and plan manpower for timely project completion.
• Conduct regular inspections and tests to ensure machine performance and operational continuity.
• Support energy management initiatives, measure electrical system efficiency, and lead energy-saving projects.
• Serve as internal auditor for ISO 50001 Energy Management System.
