Duties: Job Summary The NurseAide/Healthcare Technician assists in providing patient care underthe direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Assists inmaintaining a clean safe patient environment and performs jobresponsibilities in a safe manner. Maintains clinical andprofessional competencies as appropriate to the needs of thepatient population served. Essential Functions Supportspatients/residents with activities of daily living. Assistspatients/residents with personal hygiene. Takes vital signs andheight and weight measurements. Feeds and ambulatespatients/residents according to specific procedures. Maintainspatient/resident s rooms in a clean and orderly condition. Observesand reports changes in patient/resident conditions. Orientspatients/families to unit and instructs patient on safety measures.
Assists with clerical work such as including answering phonesentering data and maintaining medical records. Maintains stocksupply items in inventory management.

Performs duties as outlinedin the scope of Nurse Aide I or Nurse Aide II tasks (per NorthCarolina Board of Nursing Nurse Aide I and Nurse Aide II TasksList).

Perform technical tasks with appropriate training such asadministering a 12 Lead Electrocardiogram test and routinevenipuncture. Physical Requirements Work requires walking standingsitting lifting reaching bending stretching stooping pushing andpulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 poundsin handling patients medical equipment and supplies. Must speak andunderstand English in good understandable terms. Must have manualand finger dexterity. Physical abilities testingrequired.

Skills: Skills:Current listing with the DFS Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide Ior with the North Carolina Board of Nursing as a Nurse Aide II.Current American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life SupportHealthCare Providercertification.

Education:Education: High School Diploma or GEDrequired.
