Overview:

As an OTTechnician you will play a crucial role in assisting withoccupational therapy procedures and ensuring the smooth operationof medical equipment in the rehabilitation department. You willwork closely with occupational therapists to provide essentialsupport in delivering patient care and maintaining the therapeuticenvironment.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Assist in preparingtreatment areas for patient therapysessions.
• Support patients during therapyexercises and activities.
• Operate and maintainvarious medical equipment used in occupationaltherapy.
• Ensure cleanliness organization andsafety of therapy spaces and equipment.
• Handleadministrative tasks such as scheduling appointments andmaintaining patient records.
• Assist in theimplementation of therapeutic treatment plans under the guidance ofoccupational therapists.
• Communicateeffectively with healthcare teams and patients to coordinate careactivities.
• Participate in patient educationand provide support with adaptive devices andequipment.
• Contribute to the evaluation anddocumentation of patient progress and treatmentoutcomes.
• Adhere to established protocols forinfection control and sterilizationprocedures.
• Participate in quality improvementinitiatives related to occupational therapyservices.
• Collaborate with other healthcareprofessionals to ensure comprehensive patientcare.
• Stay updated on industry best practicesand relevant regulations.
• Contribute tomaintaining a positive patientcentered careenvironment.

RequiredQualifications:

• High school diplomaor GED equivalent required.
• Completion of anaccredited occupational therapy assistantprogram.
• Current certification as anOccupational Therapy Technician (COT/OTTech).
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in asimilar role within a healthcaresetting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medicalterminology and common occupational therapyprocedures.
• Proficiency in operating andmaintaining occupational therapyequipment.
• Strong understanding of patientconfidentiality and privacyregulations.
• Excellent communication andinterpersonal skills.
• Ability to workeffectively in a collaborative teamenvironment.
• Strong attention to detail andability to follow preciseinstructions.
• Familiarity with electronichealth record (EHR) systems and basic computerskills.
• Ability to lift and move heavyequipment and assist patients asneeded.
• Willingness to maintain continuingeducation and stay abreast of industryadvances.
• Current CPR certificationpreferred.
• Ability to adapt to changing workdemands and prioritize taskseffectively.
