Role: Guidewire QA Tester / Functional Tester (InsuranceNow & P&C)
Location: Often remote or hybrid (common in major tech hubs like Hyderabad, Chennai)
Experience Level: 38+ years (ranges from Staff to Senior Tester)
Summary: The ideal candidate will be responsible for functional, integration, and regression testing for Guidewire InsuranceSuite, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and efficient P&C insurance workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Case Development & Execution: Analyze business specifications to create, maintain, and execute detailed test scenarios, cases, and scripts for policy, billing, and claims modules.
- P&C Functional Testing: Validate end-to-end policy lifecycles, including quoting, binding, endorsements, cancellations, and renewals.
- InsuranceNow Integration Testing: Test API-based integrations between InsuranceNow/PolicyCenter and external systems (e.g., policy administration, underwriting, payments).
- Data Validation: Use SQL to validate data integrity between front-end UI and back-end databases.
- Defect Management: Log defects in JIRA/ALM, track them to closure, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Agile/Scrum Collaboration: Actively participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and review meetings with developers and business analysts.
- Automation Support: Support test automation initiatives using tools like Selenium and Rest Assured
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of P&C Insurance (Personal Auto, Homeowners, Commercial Lines).
- Guidewire Suite Experience: Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, and/or BillingCenter.
- Testing Methodologies: Proficiency in Manual Testing, Functional Testing, Regression Testing, and UAT.
- Technical Skills: SQL (for data validation), JIRA (for defect tracking), and familiarity with Web Services/API testing (SoapUI/Postman).
- Automation: Experience with Selenium or Guidewire testing frameworks is a major plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently or in a team
