Job Summary:

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Scrub in and assist the surgical team during orthopedic surgeries, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Handle and pass surgical instruments and supplies to surgeons as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough pre-operative checks of the operating room, ensuring cleanliness and availability of required equipment.
• Scrub hands and arms according to aseptic technique before entering the operating room.
• Set up sterile tables with surgical instruments and equipment based on the specific orthopedic procedure.
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons during procedures, passing instruments and supplies promptly and accurately.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the surgery, taking appropriate actions to prevent contamination.
• Assist with the positioning and draping of patients for orthopedic surgeries.
• Dispose of surgical waste and sharps in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and patient safety.
• Monitor and manage surgical instruments, reporting any issues or malfunctions.
• Adhere to infection control policies and guidelines.
