    We are hiring for the position of Product Manager with one of the leading organization

    Briefly describe the major responsibilities of the role holder's immediate subordinates :

    • Product portfolio management
    • Understand product gaps
    • Facilitate new product development
    • Product profitability
    • Quarterly Product specific PBIT and Sales
    • Ratio of negative margin products
    • Customer Perception and Satisfaction on product range and relevance
    • Briefly describe the nature of the reporting relationship which exists between the role holder and the manager to whom the role holder is accountable.
    • The reporting relationship is direct . functional and primary. There is no separate administrative reporting.
    • Performance reviews and interactions happen with defined periodicity.

    Job Purpose :

    • Knows Customers and Market
    • Does regular analysis and valuation of the market.
    • Tracks customer's satisfaction to product / portfolio.
    • Regularly updates self on technology trends and customer's business behavior.
    • Keeps selfabreast about the competitors' developments including identification of product gaps, strengths and weaknesses.
    • Manage Existing Product Portfolio
    • Plans and maintains Product roadmaps.
    • Consistently monitors and analyzes product/portfolio profitability, competitiveness, strategic positioning . Tracks financial performance metrics of the product line
    • Regularly identifies portfolio features and makes adjustments in product positioning, selling increase options, product cost reductions, or product phaseout.
    • Contributes to and manages intellectual property portfolio.
    • Clarify Customer Value
    • Has appropriate level of understanding and defines targeted market segments, products positioning and offerings.
    • Addresses customer needs, involving others and communicating appropriately, contributing to customer satisfaction to expected levels.

    Propose New Product :


    Proposes new product/project portfolio to global and local roadmaps, sets goals and action plan, has understanding of product success/failure elements.


    • Recognizes some complexity of issues and interrelationships while proposing the new product/ project portfolio
    • Reacts to bring about balance in the portfolio via product improvements, new product versions and networks with others to gain the requisite support for product innovation.
    • Continuously follows up on new product performance.
    • Usually supports protection of intellectual property for new products.

    • Provide factual, quantitative and financial information particularly relevant to the job which helps to reflect the scale and scope of the job.

    Key Accountabilities :

    • To achieve budgeted results
    • To achieve budgeted order inputs and sales across PL's, ensuring good health of debtors and stocks while maintaining overall cost parameter.

    Competition analysis & feedback :

    • To continuously track competition, their activities, their policies, analyze and compare with our policies, benchmark best practices, give feedback & implement.
    • To ensure customer data base, plan and implement responses in line with

    To monitor customer satisfaction levels with defined periodicity and act on gaps for improvement.

    Sales Admin & Promotional Activities :

    • To plan and implement sales promotional actions for creating consumer pull as well as channel engagement. To create visibility for product and brand recall.

    • Customer / dealer interaction

    Key Interactions :

    • Provide the key working relationships or routine contacts the job holder need to have INSID and OUTSIDE the organization to accomplish job and the reason for these interactions.

    INTERNAL EXTERNAL :

    • Interaction with Design, NPD 1. Interaction with Key Strategic dealers
    • Interaction with Regional Business Heads
    • Interaction with customer / Corporate accounts (Decision makers)/ Key OEMs/ Major consultants/ Key personnel of Govt. Utilities
    • Interaction with Motor Head
    • Interaction with Unit Heads

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience :

    • Engineering Graduate (Mechanical /
    Electrical)

    • Relevant experience (Type/ Nature and years of relevant experience required to execute the role years relevant experience in the region
