    Role: Site Reliability Engineer

    Location: Hyderabad

    Job Type: Contract (Permanent to Purview Services)

    NOTE: Client is looking for immediate joiners or 1 Month Notice Period candidates only.

    Job Description:

    Primary job responsibilities

    Ability to operate and maintain various OS platforms, with a focus on debugging, automation, availability, performance, and scale. Diagnose and troubleshoot complex distributed systems. Work and collaborate across teams, such as OS, Applications, Hardware, Network etc...

    Using your expertise in principles of automation and continuous improvement, you will help create an environment where availability, reliability, and security are threaded by being role model for Juniors.

    Required skills.

    • Expert level knowledge and troubleshooting Skills of Unix Infrastructure (Linux)
    • Proactively Support & Maintain Critical Linux infrastructure 24x7 in a 3-shift pattern.
    • Expert level Troubleshooting experience on Veritas Volume Manager and Veritas Cluster setup.
    • Expertise in Network topologies, TCP/IP and Routing
    • Adept knowledge of RAID Levels such as RAID-0, RAID-1, RAID-1+0, RAID-5
    • Excellent knowledge of LVM and luns (SAN) configuration on Linux
    • Skillsets and expertise on virtualization (Cloud / VMware technologies)
    • Ability of support role swap / DR tests
    • Ability to develop simple/complex shell scripts as per requirements.
    • Troubleshooting various issues like performance, OS booting problems, Filesystem etc... on servers. And Strong technical knowledge in respective technology.
    • Effective in dealing with Crises calls/Critical issues for business-critical services.
    • Should be able to present a solution and implement or explain the problem to both technical and non-technical parties.
    • Should be able to lead crisis calls and work on finding the Root Cause Analysis and should be able to test & implement remedial actions.
    • Engineering of Linux systems administration-related solutions for global Payment services.
    • Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning using the platform and strategic tools in the Bank
    • Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
    • 12+ years' experience of Linux Administration is expected.
    • Required to work in UK business Hrs. There may also be a requirement for on-call support and out of office hours.

    Additional Skill

    • Good knowledge about one of automation tool like Ansible / Puppet / Tanium
    • Knowledge about Agile practices and DevOps tools.
    • RedHat/Volume manager Certification will be an added advantage.
    • Well versed with ITIL concepts and more specific understanding of Service operations activities.
