    Job Summary

    :

    The Associate Engineer-Hardware, R&D, ATDE requires the knowledge to participate in the development, proof of concepts hardware prototyping, functional prototype design and assembly by dev kit or breadboard. This level role provides the opportunity for exposure to fundamental electrical/hardware engineering principles and concepts.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • With guidance, support, and supervision, learns the vision, business and solution architecture for overall hardware systems engineering roadmap including – Hardware, Electrical and some Firmware aspects of product development.

    • With direction, support, and guidance
    o Develop, assemble, and test hardware prototypes for proof of concept and demonstration purposes utilizing dev kits and breadboarding.
    o Assemble, test and/or troubleshoot all aspects of hardware and subsystems for drug delivery, monitoring, patient monitoring, system/process monitoring as well as industrial hardware solutions to include but not limited to: DC motor and drive circuits, power supplies, sensors, A/D converters, microprocessors, and communication busses (GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART), RF Communications using Bluetooth/BLE, Wi-Fi & LORA, Loading of FW and some minimal SW work for testing purposes.

    • Help identify, incorporate, and test hardware solutions, suitable sensors, actuators, monitoring systems, and drive systems for POC, projects for R&D and industrial hardware solutions.

    • Assist in, record, capture and produce documentation to include writing modern requirements, produce block diagrams, capture test data, produce test reports utilizing best practices and training provided.

    • Work to build business knowledge and to transform this knowledge and business requirements into technical specifications for proof-of-concept demonstration.

    • With supervision, support, and guidance: plan, develop, test, and deploy different solutions in a DevOps environment driven through innovation, research and development, and execution to document, learn, grow professionally, and assist in advancing projects and POC's for HW within R&D.

    • With support, estimate time needed to achieve technical requirements and break down work in DevOps into user stories and tasks.

    • Work closely with HW Leads as well as having good cross functional communication to assist on various prototypes, proof of concepts, through test solutions and demonstration.

    • Solve routine and standard problems.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Bachelors' / master's degree or equivalent with emphasis in Electronics, Electrical or Computer Science Engineering

    • Minimum 0-3 years of experience

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Possesses exposure to or education in the following:
    o Electrical/electronic circuits fundamentals
    o Basic soldering and wiring skills at breadboard and benchtop level.
    o Electronic Components knowledge
    o Working knowledge of Oscilloscopes, DMMs, Programmers, Debuggers
    o Knowledge of basic sensors and communication busses (I2C, SPI, UART)
    o Knowledge of power supplies and motor driver circuits including PWM
    o Basic knowledge of microprocessors
    o Basic Knowledge and use of tools such as Altium, Microsoft products, DevOps, Teams etc. training provided and as needed.
    o Nice to have/Bonus for knowledge in use of IDEs such as STM32Cube IDE, Keil, Atmel's AVR Studio, TI's Code Composer Studio, Microchip's MPLAB (IDE, IPE) or any other popular platforms.


    • Ability to work in a global and virtual environment and to effectively prioritize and execute tasks.

    • Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

    • Able to always comply with the company's safety policy.

    Physical and Travel Requirements

    • 10% travel, including global travel.

    • Occasional on-call work required.
