    Department Profile
    Cash Management and Payments has primary responsibility of controlling all cash activities across the global Morgan Stanley franchise. The Division has a global presence with offices in New York, London, Glasgow, Baltimore, and Mumbai.

    India Cash Management and Payments Management team is in Mumbai encompassing four functions:
    Cash Transaction Services, Treasury Trade Support and Liquidity Management, Payment & Suspense Utility and Transaction screening.

    Background on the Team

    Cash Transaction Services:

    CTS acts as the last line of defence for the firm, by reviewing payment with red flags, performing necessary due diligence, and is only released once the red flags are addressed.

    The team's scope of work aims at independent Investigation and releasing payments initiated by Business Units and Liquidity management teams.


    Treasury Trade Support and

    Liquidity Management:
    Liquidity Management monitors the Firm's cash flows and balances ensuring liquidity needs are satisfied.

    Cash Management has primary responsibility for the governance and control over cash flow activity across Morgan Stanley's Treasury & LM managed firm cash accounts.

    Trade Support Team within the Cash Management department acts as a control team on behalf of the Corporate Treasury and Liquidity Management ensuring timely processing of funding transfers by actioning any exceptions or confirmation that these deals might trigger.

    Trade Support actively engaged in HIF function such as Client Money processing & ensures the processing is completed with utmost accuracy.



    Payment and Suspense Utility:

    The Payment Utility team performs due diligence on manual and certain systemic payments being released from the firm and provide a centralized and controlled environment where processes have been standardized for authorizing payments initiated by business units.

    Suspense Utility team is responsible to monitor & reconcile suspense accounts for unapplied cash (incoming & outgoing) under open suspense model.

    There is real-time reconciliation of incoming and outgoing cash vs missions booked.


    Transaction Screening:
    Transaction screening is conducted on incoming and outgoing funds to ensure there are no OFAC/sanctions concerns.

    Outgoing payments are screened at initiation prior to release and Incoming payments are screened at the time of receipt prior to application into a client's account.

    If there is a potential match, an alert will be generated and reviewed in the Firm's exception management platform.
    Alerts are reviewed within a three-level Operating Model as follows:
    Level 1 & 2 reside within Transaction Screening Operations (TS Ops)
    Level 3 resides with GFC.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • The successful candidate will report directly into the Director (if Associate).
    The primary tasks for the successful individual will include:


    • Action queues as per standard operating procedures.
    • Communicate closely with Compliance department, Operations, and external Agent Banks during the day for investigation of issues and respond to phone / email inquiries.
    • Participate in initiatives and projects that improves efficiency of the process, enhances control and supports new businesses.
    • Able to track and produc Qualifications Skills required
    Competencies/skills - specify 'required' or 'desired'

    • Product knowledge: basic banking knowledge desired
    • Language: English required
    • PC skill: Excellent PC skills in data analysis and producing presentations.

    • Good communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills are required
