    Role Description

    This is a full-time remote role for a Senior 3D VFX Artist with expertise in Ember Gen and Unreal Engine. The VFX Artist will be responsible for creating high-quality, optimized visual effects for our game assets, collaborating with cross-functional teams, including artists and programmers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance. As a Senior, you will be expected to guide and mentor the team in best practices for creating stunning visual effects using Ember Gen and Unreal Engine. A strong artistic eye and technical proficiency are essential for this role. The VFX Artist will also be responsible for troubleshooting, debugging, and optimizing visual effects.

    Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in game development as a VFX Artist
    • Strong knowledge and demonstrated expertise in Ember Gen and Unreal Engine
    • Proficiency in creating a wide range of visual effects, including particles, sprites, lighting, and shaders
    • Experience optimizing visual effects for game performance
    • Strong artistic skills and attention to detail in creating visually compelling effects
    • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including artists and programmers
    • Experience with game asset pipelines and version control systems
    • Knowledge of 3D content creation pipelines and tools
    • Familiarity with PBR principles and their application in visual effects
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
    • Shipped at least one game on a platform like mobile, PC, or console, with a strong portfolio showcasing your VFX work

    Bonus

    • Experience with other industry-standard VFX tools like Houdini or FumeFX
    • Knowledge of shader programming languages such as HLSL or GLSL
    • Familiarity with real-time VFX optimization techniques
    • Ability to create concept art or storyboards for visual effects
    • Experience writing documentation and tutorials for internal teams and the wider VFX community
