    The opportunity

    Adobe Design, our 750+ person global experience design group, is looking for a Senior Design Manager to lead design efforts for Adobe Illustrator, part of the growing Creative Cloud business. We work on market leading products in the spaces of digital publishing, Vector graphics, imaging, video and more. Come help us build the industry-leading graphic design tool that lets Creatives design anything they can imagine.

    What you'll do

    As a Senior Design Manager, you will partner with and lead an ensemble of talented designers to design and craft experiences for Adobe Illustrator, our industry-leading graphic design tool. We're looking for a natural leader who can inspire, organize, and nurture a team. We are customer-obsessed and strive to create inviting, simple, and accessible experiences for the modern, connected world. The ideal candidate should have a strong design background and experience leading a design team.

    What you need to succeed

  • Partner with Product, Research, Engineering, and Marketing to define the key objectives and identify the most impactful features to build.
  • Foster an environment of creativity, ingenuity, and forward-thinking to build valuable solutions for users.
  • Lead and strengthen a team of designers to craft innovative and compelling experiences.
  • Build a collaborative environment that encourages deep partnership with cross-functional teams and set a high bar for design craft.
  • Champion a culture of research and validation to inform design direction.
  • Represent the team as you influence design and cross-functional leaders.
  • 10+ years in the product design industry with experience in launching products that delight, innovate, and scale by turning complex problems into simple engaging customer experiences.
  • 5+ years of people management and leadership experience with a track record of success in hiring, training, and developing designers ranging from junior talent to highly experienced individual contributors.
  • Experience helping your team conduct research, present results, and develop plans to align design decisions with user insights and business objectives.
  • Experience working in large global teams with many moving parts.
  • Willingness to learn about complex subject matter and champion the needs of non-relatable users.
  • Champion customer-centricity, accessibility and inclusion, and good design choices across functions.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
